Audubon Society of Rhode Island recently announced it will receive a $750,000 grant from Fujitsu for technology such as file servers, external hard disk drives, Tablet PCs and laptops.
The equipment will aid conservation efforts such as the Rhode Island Wildlife Surveys. It will be instrumental in developing new environmental exhibits, and enhancing existing ones. It will also augment the activities of citizen science projects, as students and volunteers will be able to immediately collect and present data to document the results of their investigations.

The Connecticut Audubon Society will receive a $1.3 million grant from Fujitsu and New Jersey Audubon Society will receive $950,000. In each case, including Rhode Island’s, the grant represents the largest gift of technology in each organization’s history.
