R.I. gas prices up 1 cent, AAA says

Gasoline prices continue to increase in Rhode Island, rising by a penny over the last week, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s Jan. 23 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, unleaded regular averaging $2.39 per gallon, 1 cent more than last week. This is the seventh consecutive week in which prices have risen, by a total of 35 cents per gallon since early December. A year ago at this time, the average price was $1.86.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for regular unleaded is 17 cents, from a low of $2.32 to a high of $2.49.
