
The Ronald McDonald House of Providence recently held a ceremony to present the Second Annual Women’s Leadership Awards to six women who have made a positive impact in one of the following areas: community service, health care, business, athletics and education.
This year’s honorees: Anne Hird, associate professor, Bridgewater State University and co-founder, RMH Providence Running Club (athletics); Linda H. Newton, vice president of community relations, CSR and diversity, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (business); Armeather Gibbs, chief operating officer, United Way of Rhode Island (community service); Kati Machtley, co-founder and director, Women’s Summit at Bryant University (education); and Pamela High, director, Division of Development-Pediatrics at W. Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University and co-director, Hasbro Partial Hospital Program, Hasbro Children’s Hospital; and Cindy L. Schwartz, director, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Hasbro Children’s Hospital (both health care). •
