Roylene Rides at the Door has been named state conservationist for Rhode Island by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). She has a 15-year history with NRCS, which began while she attended Montana State University and worked as a soil conservationist. Rides at the Door has held positions as district conservationist in Montana, American Indian liaison for the state of Arizona, and assistant state conservationist for field operations for the past five years in Oklahoma.
