BEDFORD — Shuttle America has begun its long-anticipated and long delayed flights
between Hanscom Field here and LaGuardia Airport in New York City. Despite the
continued presence of protestors on November 1, Shuttle America began an alternative
service between Greater Boston and New York with five daily flights. Delta Airlines
and U.S. Airways have daily shuttle service between Logan Airport and LaGuardia.
Protesters object to the addition of commercial flights to Hanscom, the busiest
general aviation airport in New England. Shuttle America originally intended to
begin service September 12, but the FAA delayed the introduction of service pending
review of its potential impact on nearby historic sites.
