Tax abatements debated for downtown

The Providence City Council is considering a tax abatement for downtown
buildings that would expand the so-called renaissance from Waterplace
Park to what is considered the core of downtown. Its aim would be to
entice a residential population for downtown, something city planners
have been promoting for several years. This story leads our current
