Textron Inc.’s Ken Bohlen, executive vice president and CIO, has been named one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2006 by IDG’s Computerworld newspaper. The Premier 100 awards program honors executives who demonstrate strong leadership, creativity and commitment to resolving pressing business problems with information technology solutions.
Bohlen was selected as part of this year’s class of leaders for promoting a dynamic IT program that supports Textron’s global business strategy while also encouraging technology use and innovative ideas among employees.
“We’re very proud that Ken’s leadership has – once again – been recognized by his peers in the technology industry,” said Lewis B. Campbell, chairman, president and CEO of Textron. “As a result of his focused leadership, Textron is strategically positioned to manage the current and navigate the future information technology needs of our businesses in order to more effectively compete in the global marketplace.”
The 2006 honorees were selected from a collection of nearly 600 nominations. Each IT leader was measured against Computerworld’s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations. Other members of the 2006 Premier 100 include IT leaders from Hewlett- Packard, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, Motorola, FedEx, Circuit City, and Southwest Airlines.
