How has COVID-19 changed your industry? Initially, it caused complete shutdowns throughout the justice system, leading to significant backlogs and uncertainty amongst litigants as to the status of their cases. Now, however, the courts have made a tremendous effort to get back on track, which has evolved into a more efficient system for non-evidentiary proceedings – allowing counsel to attend multiple hearings or conferences in a day without the added costs of travel or delays of in-person attendance.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Get comfortable being uncomfortable because you can only grow outside your comfort zone.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Cheering on my daughters in whatever they want to do. Hopefully also as a partner at Nixon Peabody.

What was your first job? Lifeguard at Charlestown Town Beach. The best first job a kid could ask for.

What is your favorite Rhode Island food or drink? A beer from a Rhode Island brewery. Specifically, “Tate the Great” from Tilted Barn or “Emu Wars” from Proclamation Ale Co.

What was your last streaming or cable binge watch? “We Own This City.”

What led you to pursuing a career in your current industry? When I realized that I couldn’t play high-level rugby for the rest of my life, I needed another outlet where I could compete. While the competition brought me to want to be a litigator, the ability to help people in need is what has kept me going. nthe prop William Wynne holds a rugby ball. He began playing rugby at Bishop Hendricken High School and it led to him traveling the world and he represented the U.S. in a pair of world rugby tournaments.
