Attorneys and staff at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder – a law office with locations in Providence, Boston, Hartford and Concord, N.H. – enjoy a rich benefits package. Not only does the firm pay 80 percent of health care premium costs for employees, it offers a 401(k) with company contribution, performance-based monetary bonuses and incentives, and liberal vacation, sick and personal days.
“Work-life balance is very important to us, so we want to make sure employees have enough time away from the office to spend with their families,” said Megan McCormack, director of administration and human relations.
It’s also important to the law firm that employees stay healthy, both physically and mentally. The company provides a comprehensive wellness program that runs classes, confidential counseling sessions and educational seminars. One employee lost more than 100 pounds through a weight-loss program and now regularly runs half-marathons.
It’s not just the staff that Hinckley, Allen & Snyder cares about, though, it’s the community at large. Employees are strongly encouraged to get involved with local groups, and more than 50 of the firm’s staff members volunteer with 100 different nonprofits and community organizations. This year, Hinckley, Allen & Snyder employees participated in a Bowl-a-Thon to benefit Rhode Island’s Junior Achievement organization, and the firm consistently makes donations to the Teach for America program. Some attorneys at the firm participate in a pro-bono collaboration, where they provide free legal advice and services to Rhode Island organizations.
“That is very much the fabric of our firm, our involvement in the community” said Laurie MacDonald, director of marketing and business development. “We’re very proud of our role” in the community. &#8226
