Young Professionals are Chilling for Community Change

Providence, RI (January 31, 2013) United Way of Rhode Island’s Young Leaders Circle is holding its third Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser on Sunday, February 24th at 12:00 p.m.  The Plunge will take place at Easton’s First Beach, 175 Memorial Boulevard, Newport. One hundred percent (100%) of donations raised will go to United Way-funded programs that help East Bay residents in need.

The concept is simple: YLC Polar Bear Plunge participants raise money and then take a dip into Newport’s Easton’s Beach.  In addition to helping our Newport County neighbors in need all YLC Plungers will receive a LIVE UNITED t-shirt. YLC Plungers that raise a minimum of $100 will also receive a LIVE UNITED beach towel or United Way blanket. So grab a friend, co-worker, family member, or go at it alone.  To register to plunge or donate visit: https://www.firstgiving.com/8137/ylc-polar-bear-plunge-2013. Please help us reach our goal of $7,500!

All YLC Plungers and donors are invited to a complimentary Pre-Plunge Party! All YLC plungers and donors who make a minimum gift of $15 to the plunge are invited to join us for this breakfast. All other guests are asked to make a $15 donation to the plunge at the door. Guests under age 12 are free.  Pre-party is from 10am-11:45am at Tickets Bar & Grille, 15 Aquidneck Ave, Middletown, RI (walking distance to Easton’s Beach). Please RSVP for the Pre-Plunge Party by emailing youngleaders@uwri.org
