Business forum focus: Internet

How the Internet can help businesses will be the focus of a forum to be held May 19 as part of the Providence Business News Speakers Series. The event, called “The Internet Business Model Forum: From Amazon to Zapata,” will include a panel of e-commerce experts, including Anthony Cospito, the founder of PowerGeneration of Lynn, Mass. The speakers will cover a number of areas, ranging from online marketing strategies to online retail.

”This will not be a glitzy Internet seminar. We will be talking about the bottom line compelling reasons to be engaging in activities on the Web,” said Cospito, the founder of the e-commerce consulting firm.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Westin Hotel.

Cospito said several professionals working in the field will be on the panel.

He said that the forum is intended for beginners to business people with an intermediate knowledge of the Internet and its advantages.

Cospito said it is important that all business communities realize the resources available to them.

”I’m coming to speak in Providence because it is a very strong market. There are a lot of companies down there that would have some great potential if they were up and running on the Internet,” he added.
