PROVIDENCE – The city of Providence has launched a new interactive and mobile-friendly website at www.Providenceri.gov to improve access to municipal services for residents, businesses and visitors.
The website, designed by Rhode Island company, Figmints Delicious Design and Creative Marketing LLC, is the city’s first new online portal since 2012. In announcing the website’s launch on June 8, Mayor Jorge O. Elorza highlighted its improved accessibility in line with the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

“This website is designed with the end-user in mind and takes into account the specific needs of Providence residents, business owners and visitors,” said Elorza. “This is yet another step we are taking to make sure Providence is a city that works for everyone through accessible, responsive and innovative government.”
The city’s last website averaged close to 100,000 users per month, according to a release from the mayor’s office, with use peaking during tax season, inclement weather conditions and major city events. The new site’s home page places the most in-demand information front and center, as determined by user analytics from searches on the old website.
Other new or improved functions include a responsive design that automatically adjusts for mobile devices, an alert feature on each page to display important public news and updates and preferred language options in English, Khmer, Portuguese and Spanish, based on residential and public school demographics.
Residents can use the new website to request city services, pay parking tickets and tax bills online, view public notices and records, download city documents and application forms, and more.
