Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have increased for the second consecutive week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s March 13 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, unleaded regular averaging $2.26 per gallon, 4 cents more than last week and 7 cents more than two weeks ago. Prices this year peaked at $2.40 on Jan. 30, and had declined each week until increasing last week. A year ago at this time the average price was $2.01.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for regular unleaded is 15 cents, from a low of $2.19 to a high of $2.34. Motorists should continue to shop around for the best prices in their area, AAA says.
