Seque school will offer C.F. community services

CENTRAL FALLS – The Segue Institute for Learning, a charter school opened in 2009, has purchased the community-center building on Cowden Street for $63,000 to help bring critical services to families in need of community-based support.
The school’s goal is to have the building function as a full-service community school and social-services provider.
“The vision is to take our academic program and extend it to every member of the school,” said founder Angelo Garcia. “This is not just a school. This will become a place of learning and support for students and youth, parents, seniors and everyone in Central Falls.
The community center closed in 2011 due to financial hardship after servicing as a community resource since 1923.
The Segue Institute strives to provide high academic rigor, small class sizes, individualized attention, strong board and parental involvement and intensive community partnerships. •
