WEST WARWICK – Cox Communications has launched its new wireless service in Rhode Island.
The mobile phone and high-speed Internet service touts itself as “unbelievably fair,” offering customers up to $20 a month for unused minutes on their voice plans and alerts when approaching the maximum number of voice minutes or messages to avoid overage charges. It also includes unlimited calling between a Cox customer’s home phone and wireless phone.
Its individual voice plans start at $39.99 a month and range up to a combination data/voice package for $99.99 a month. In general, the company’s prices match or track closely plans from companies already in Rhode Island, including AT&T, Sprint Nextel Corp. and Verizon Wireless. •
