WARWICK – Five airlines are adding more flights at T.F. Green Airport, the R.I. Airport Corporation said Monday.
Delta Air Lines Inc. this month reinstated a large-jet flight to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport that the airline briefly ran last fall. The carrier also runs two 76-seat flights to Atlanta.

U.S. Airways Group Inc. resumed service between T.F. Green and its hub in Charlotte, N.C., this month, as well.
Northwest Airlines Inc., which merged with Delta in 2008, has begun running a 76-seat flight to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport throughout the year. Last year, the flight was dropped during the winter.
Starting March 14, Southwest Airlines Co. plans to add additional daily departures to both Baltimore-Washington Airport and Tampa International Airport. Southwest now runs 10 daily flights to Baltimore-Washington and three to Tampa.
Starting April 6, United Airlines will add additional seats on its trips between T.F. Green and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. United, owned by UAL Corp., will also run a fifth daily flight to Washington’s Dulles International Airport for the first time in nearly three years.
Finally, Hyannis Air Service Inc., better known as Cape Air, will once again offer service to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket islands starting June 4.
R.I. Airport Corporation CEO Kevin Dillon said the additional flights “illustrate the strength of our market.”
“We remain cautiously optimistic the increases signal a slow, steady recovery to air service at Green,” Dillon said. “We will continue to meet with all our carriers … to support our argument for more flights at [Green]. This is all, however, contingent on an improved economy to support the service.”
