Merrill W. Sherman, president and CEO of Bancorp Rhode Island, has been named chairman of Rhode Island School of Design’s Board of Trustees.
She had been vice chairman since 2004.
She also serves on the boards of The Providence Foundation, the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council and Crossroads Rhode Island.
Sherman is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., and has a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.
