Gale Eaton, a University of Rhode Island professor since 1988, has been named director of the URI Graduate School of Library and Information Studies. Assistant director and coordinator of the URI library school’s distance learning program since 2003, Eaton is well known regionally as a leader in the use of technology. She also is known as an author of women’s biographies.
