Gov. Donald L. Carcieri appointed Cheryl Merchant, president and CEO of Hope Global, to the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, the governor’s office announced Sept. 23.
Merchant’s appointment to the RIEDC board comes after Hope Global’s sales have doubled in the past six years under her leadership, according to the governor’s statement.
