Evan Smith has been named president and CEO of Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau. He had served as interim president since August 2004 and was the bureau’s vice president of marketing for 14 years. In his new role, Smith is responsible for promoting Newport County tourism. He will oversee the bureau’s sales, marketing and visitor services programs. Smith lives in Jamestown.
