Richard P. Farias has been appointed executive vice president at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island in Providence. He previously worked as vice president of the company’s health and wellness division. Farias was also named to the executive management team, where he’s responsible for various services. Farias joined the company in 1977, and has nearly 30 years’ experience in health insurance. He serves on the board of directors for IN-SIGHT. Farias received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a master’s from Bryant College. He lives in Somerset, Mass.
