Luggage company store closings begin across the country, Providence Place Mall

Providence Place Mall is losing a tenant as the holiday shopping season approaches, with the closing of Bentley’s Luggage Store, along with all Bentley’s, El Portal, Bon Voyage and California Luggage Outlet stores closing all over the country, beginning last week.

Stores are located in Providence, Boston, and 27 other states, with 135 stores closing.

More than $80 million of inventory will be liquidated during the store closing sale. Discounts will be taken on all famous brands that are not normally reduced and items on sale include luggage, handbags, garment bags, backpacks, attaches, briefcases, computer cases and wallets.

Hilco Merchant Resources will conduct the sales events at all locations. The Northbrook, Illinois-based company provides high yield strategic retail inventory liquidation and store closing services. Hilco Merchant Resources is part of the Hilco Organization, a provider of asset valuation, acquisition, disposition and financing to an international marketplace through eight specialized business units.
