Rhode Island’s recession is now in its eighth month, according to the Current Conditions Index created by University of Rhode Island economics professor Leonard Lardaro. The report was released on Monday.
The index for October was 42, higher than September and the highest value since May. Only five of the 12 indicators improved in October – two of those just barely. The indicators include employment, help wanted ads, retail sales, housing sales, wages and labor.
