D. Alan Scribner has been named assistant vice president-commercial lending at First Bank and Trust Company of Providence. He is a commercial loan officer, and will be responsible for loan portfolio management, the development of new loan relationships, and the origination of Small Business Administration loans. Previously he was vice president of commercial lending at Union Federal Bank and vice president at Business Lenders, LLC. Scribner is a 1980 graduate of the University of Vermont with a bachelor of arts degree in economics and finance. He resides in Westerly with his wife.
