Jane Metzger, RN has been appointed vice president and chief nursing officer at Rhode Island Hospital. Her responsibilities include inpatient nursing, the operating rooms, adult emergency services and endoscopy. She began her career at Rhode Island Hospital in 1992 as director of nursing professional development. She was promoted to director of human resources development for Lifespan in 1997. For eight months beginning in 1999 she served as interim executive director for VNA Rhode Island.
