John C. Schmitt has been named vice president within the precious metals division at Fleet. He will manage a portfolio in the bank’s precious metals division. He joined Fleet in 1994 and previously was banking officer in the precious metals division. Schmitt graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in international business. He is a resident of Cranston.
