The price of gasoline in Rhode Island has fallen for the third consecutive week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s December 15 survey of prices in the state found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.58, down one cent from last week and four cents from Thanksgiving. However, $1.58 is 22 cents more than during last Christmas, when the average price of gasoline in Rhode Island was $1.36 per gallon.

Average prices per gallon of self-serve gasoline are $1.58 for regular unleaded; $1.67 for midgrade unleaded; $1.74 for premium unleaded; and $1.76 for diesel. Corresponding average prices for full-serve gasoline are $1.72, $1.80, $1.88 and $1.87, respectively.
