Lottery produces $150.3 million for state treasury

PROVIDENCE– The Rhode Island Lottery has transferred $150.3 million to the
state’s General Fund for the year ending June 30, the General Assembly announced.
The transfer amounted to a 12.6 percent increase from the amount transferred
a year ago or $16.8 million more. The total for lottery sales for the year was
$864 million, the lottery reported to the auditor general. Of that amount, $671
million came from video lottery sales. The lottery reported $591 million paid
in prizes. Expenses for the year were reported to be $5.7 million
