FRAMINGHAM, MASS — Aquila Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., which creates products designed to treat, control and prevent infectious diseases, cancers and autoimmune disorders, reported a net loss of $1.4 million for the three months ended September 30, 2000, compared to a net loss of $1.5 million for the same period a year ago.
Revenues for the third quarter of 2000 were $0.8 million compared to $0.9 million for third quarter of 1999. The company reported a net loss of $3.4 million for the first nine months ended September 30,2000, compared to a net loss of $6.2 million for the nine months ended September 30, 1999. Revenues for the first nine months of 2000 were $3.5 million compared to $1.5 million for the same period in 1999. Aquila attributed this number primarily to increased product sales, research and development revenue due to the payment of a license fee from a corporate partner and higher levels of product shipments.
