AAA: R.I. gas prices fall 10 cents

After another ten-cent drop, gasoline prices in Rhode Island have now fallen an average of 21 cents per gallon during the last two weeks and 33 cents during the last month, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s Sept. 11 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.759 per gallon, 10 cents less than last week. Prices locally have fallen for six consecutive weeks. One year ago at this time the average price was $3.159.

The range in prices for self-service unleaded regular in the nonprofit auto club’s latest survey is 32 cents, from a low of $2.679 to a high of $2.999. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area.
