SOMERVILLE — After a year and a half of wrangling over proposals to redevelop the Assembly Square Mall, the city’s mayor and the site’s owners have agreed to a mixed-use plan that will combine an office building, a 125-room hotel, a three-level parking garage, a Home Depot store next to an existing Kmart, a restaurant, some smaller stores and a redeveloped waterfront park. Protesters barred from the signing ceremony still expressed their objections to the addition of another “big box” store to the mall.
