Airport expansion supporters start Web site

An organization of community leaders, economic development professionals and business executives who support expansion plans at T.F. Green Airport have launched a Web site.

The Go Green Alliance Web site, www.gogreenalliance.org, features news articles, updates on plans for T.F. Green and links for communicating directly to lawmakers via e-mail.

The alliance is led by Co-chair Ronald K. Machtley, president of Bryant College; Co-chair Alan G. Hassenfeld, chairman of the board at Hasbro Inc.; Vice Chair Judy Cullen, owner of the Providence Biltmore; and Vice Chair George Nee of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO.

The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, the Rhode Island Commodores, the Rhode Island Economic Policy Council, the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, the Rhode Island Convention Center Authority and the Providence/Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau are also listed as supporters of the Alliance.

The group supports the completion of a revised environmental impact statement to determine the viability of expansion at T.F. Green, as recommended by the Rhode Island Airport Corporation board.
