CRANSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island Blueprint, (RIBP) a reprographics company founded in 1974, has been acquired by Glendale, Calif.-based American Reprographics Company.
According to a statement released by American Reprographics, the California company’s acquisition of RIBP will help it enter into the greater Providence market. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, but American Reprographics said RIBP’s president, Peter Morin, will continue his role as president following the deal.

RIBP has a staff of 17 employees. When asked if there would be any layoffs associated with the acquisition, Morin told PBN.com, “Definitely not. There will be no change in operations… this is an opportunity for us to gain the technology that’s sweeping the industry.”
Reprographics is essentially the reproduction of large documents, Morin said. He added that RIBP’s primary customers are the architectural and engineering industry. In addition to reproducing documents, RIBP sells some products, such as xerographic papers, films and plotters.
American Reprographics has more than 145 locations across North America.
