Anne S. DeGroot, president and CEO of Providence-based Epivax Inc., has been named one of the “Best and Brightest” in the field of science and industry for Esquire magazine. Her work in develping a globally relevant vaccine for HIV/AIDS was cited in the article. DeGroot is taking her unique approach to monitoring epitope patterns and conducting research in the area of smallpox as well. She also directs the TB/HIV Research Laboratory at Brown University.
