Antonio “Tony” Pires has been named the 109th president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island (IIARI). Pires has been a partner in the firm Troy, Pires & Allen since 1980. He begins a one-year term as president of the board of directors, followed by a year serving as president and CEO of the IIARI Corporation. He has been an active member since joining the IIARI in 1970. •
