Banc of America Securities hired
four technology investment bankers as part of Chairman Carter
McClelland’s plan to win more underwriting assignments and
mergers advisory business by increasing staff.
Stephan Month, 45, Sean Rogers, 39, and Georg Schloendorff,
40, joined from Citigroup Inc., the bank said, while Jeffrey Liu,
38, formerly worked at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown. The unit of
Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America Corp. has boosted
its roster of bankers by 20 percent to about 600 since early last
year.

McClelland began hiring more than two years ago when Wall
Street rivals such as Merrill Lynch & Co. were cutting staff as
markets declined. His investment may now be paying off — the
firm has jumped to third from sixth among underwriters of both
U.S. equity-linked securities and high-yield bonds this year from
last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
