Emanuel “Manny” Barrows has been appointed to senior vice president, business lending at Bank Rhode Island of Providence. He will head a lending team within the bank’s business lending unit with responsibility for the management and development of a commercial loan portfolio. He will also oversee a portfolio team of administration and analysis personnel. He previously served as vice president of the business banking division of Sovereign Bank. Barrows holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Bryant College and is the president of the Rhode Island chapter of the Urban Financial Services Coalition. He also serves as treasurer of the board of directors for the Textron Chamber Charter School and is a trustee for the National Conference for Community and Justice.
He is a resident of East Providence.
