Stephen E. Adamo, president and chief operating officer of Citizens Mortgage Corporation, has been named to the national advisory council of Fannie Mae. He previously served on the Northeast council for Fannie Mae. The national advisory council brings together leaders from the mortgage and finance industry and government to address the economic conditions and market dynamics the nation’s housing finance system. Formed in 1971, the council has 48 members including mortgage bankers, commercial bankers, investment banking executives, real estate agents, home builders, government and community leaders and housing authority officials. Adamo joined Citizens in 1995 and was named president and COO of Citizens Mortgage Corporation in 1999. He is a graduate of Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts and resides in East Greenwich with his wife Susan and two children.
