PROVIDENCE — Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island has tapped Pegasystems Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., a software provider, to install a process management software application in the BCBS network.
The new software will provide better customer service to BCBS’s 650,000 members, according to the company. The PegaHEALTH application processes everything from claims automation to customer service.
“Pegasystems was our hands-down choice, given its strong record of providing simple-to-use, yet powerful applications,” said David Zink, Blue Cross & Blue Shield’s chief information officer. “Pegasystems will allow us to equip our customer service representatives with the data they need to deliver personalized and responsive service, while also automating specific processes and driving new value from our back-end systems.”
TowerStream adds security application to ward off online attacks
MIDDLETOWN – TowerStream Corp., a wireless broadband provider in Middletown, has selected Mazu Networks of Cambridge, Mass., to provide TowerStream with its security application.
Mazu’s PowerSecure application will protect TowerStream’s network from intruders, worms, viruses and DOS or denial of service attacks.
“Our customers demand industrial strength wireless broadband services,” said Philip Urso, chairman and chief executive officer at TowerStream. “To meet their requirements, we must continually develop and deliver services that are innovative and technologically advanced, but also extremely dependable. We realized that these attacks are a fact of life now, and they are not likely to stop anytime soon.”
