WARWICK – BNS Co., the last remnant of the once mighty Brown & Sharpe Co., has posted a net loss of about $2 million in the fourth quarter. The loss in the quarter that ended December 31, 2001 compares unfavorably with the net gain of $21.2 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago, but that gain does reflect the sale of its metrology business to Hexagon AB, a Swedish company.
