Brooks R. Magratten has been elected president of the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island. He is a partner in the Providence office of Pierce Atwood LLP. Magratten has more than 20 years of experience in insurance, product-liability and commercial litigation. He is also the Northeast regional director of DRI and is the chairman of its life, health and disability insurance committee. •
