PROVIDENCE – Brown University has started the renovation of 200 Dyer St. to make the building the new home of the school’s office of continuing education. The project is scheduled to be completed in January.
The building will provide 22,000 square feet of classroom space meeting rooms, lecture halls and offices.
The renovation was designed by architects Durkee, Brown, Viveiros & Werenfels and executed by Shawmut Design and Construction.
The project is expected to create 65 temporary construction jobs.
The Dyer Street renovation is the second project that Brown has embarked on in the Jewelry District this fall.
Last month, Brown began work on turning a property at the intersection of Ship, Richmond and Elbow streets into a public park.
