Raymond D. Mountain, III has joined First Federal Savings Bank of America as a vice president in the commercial services division. Mountain, who will be developing new business and serving customers in Rhode Island, is located at the Bank’s Pawtucket office. He is a Cranston resident with a bachelor of arts from Providence College, and a master’s in business administration from Babson College. Mountain coaches youth soccer and is a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves in Warwick.

Elena A. Nardolillo
Elena A. Nardolillo has been appointed branch coordinator of First Bank and Trust Company’s main branch in Providence. She will coordinate the location’s banking operations and sales initiatives. Nar-dolillo began her career at First Bank in 1994 as a teller and was quickly promoted to customer service representative. She received the president’s award for outstanding customer service in 1996. Prior to First Bank the Providence resident was manager of Matthews Hallmark in Cranston.

CONVENTION CENTER

Joseph Judge
Joseph Judge, CPA, has been elected treasurer of the Board of the Rhode Island Convention Center by the RICC Authority. Judge, a Barrington resident, will succeed James Bennett, who was recently appointed chairman of the Board. Judge is the chief financial officer for the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, a quasi-state environmental agency dedicated to providing the public with environmentally sound programs and facilities to manage waste. A Providence College graduate, Judge is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs.

 

EDUCATION
Lincoln Environmental, Inc. is part of a collaborative with the Newman YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence, the East Providence School System and the East Providence Community Center, which recently received a $29,169 grant from the Rhode Island Department of Human Services. Lincoln will provide the expertise to develop portable investigative science and math kits for children in six YMCA school age child care programs. The money will also purchase computers, homework center supplies and one kindergarten center.

 

ENGINEERING

Paul Denaer
Paul Denzer has recently joined the mechanical/electrical department of Northeast Engineers & Consultants, Inc., a Knowledge Corporation. A graduate of Boston University, Denzer brings 13 years of experience to this firm, including specialties such as vacuum metalizing, HVAC, and utility engineering.

HEALTHCARE

Charles DesChamps
Charles Des-champs, of West Warwick, chief technologist for the Rhode Island MRI Network, has received the Crues and Kressel Award from the Section for Magnetic Resonance Technologists of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. The award is given in recognition of extraordinary effort in the enlightenment and education of technologists. Deschamps joined RIMRIN over 10 years ago from the Neurological Institute of New York City, where he had been involved in the early development of MRI procedures. He was active in the formation of SMRT, sat on its policy board from 1989 to 1993 and hosted the1998 Northeast SMRT meeting in Rhode Island.

 

Kendra Moitoso
Kendra Moitoso has been selected as the new director of volunteer services for Kent Hospital. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Moitoso’s appointment at Kent follows her 11 years as assistant director of volunteer services at Women & Infants Hospital. Prior to that, she was the executive coordinator for the hospital’s Auxiliary. In addition to her work at Women & Infants, the East Providence resident is currently active on the New England Institute of Technology Advisory Committee, the Sawyer School Medical and Legal Secretarial Sciences Advisory Committee and the East Providence Area Career and Technical center Principal’s Advisory Committee.

OFFICE DESIGN

Peter Paull
Peter Paull of Portsmouth has joined Creative Office Environments as director of sales. His responsibilities include marketing, sales management and new business development. He brings with him 16 years of industry experience.

 

 

REHABILITATION

Susan A. Poirier
Susan A. Poirier, RN, CNHA, director of clinical services at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was recently awarded professional certification by the College of Health Care Administrators. An administrator must have several years of experience plus meet educational requirements to be eligible for the advanced-level certification exam. Those who earn the certification may use the credential CAS after their name.

 

 

WRITING

Michael M. Woody
Michael M. Woody of Cum-berland has been named international person of the year by The Counselor magazine, a promotional products industry trade publication based in Langhone, Pa. Woody, vice president of international sales and marketing at The Quill Company in Cranston, was honored for his efforts in overseas promotional products marketing. The Quill Company has been manufacturing writing instruments since 1945.
