Quantifacts names Marnane VP
Tim Marnane has been promoted to vice president of Information Technology for banking and money management software company Quantifacts. With the Providence-based company for five years, he was most recently director of technical development. He has been responsible for managing a staff of developers and systems administrators at the firm. He headed the development team that designed and built the company’s flagship products, Fee Manager and Profit Manager. Marnane previously worked for Commercial Union Insurance, and has a bachelor’s degree from Providence College.
Mimande promoted at WHY
John D. Mimande was promoted to senior graphic designer/production director of WHY® Design, Ltd. For the last two years Mimande served as graphic designer for the company. He will lead the graphic design team and coordinate the estimating, scheduling and production of various WHY client and in-house projects. Prior to joining WHY, a Providence company, he was graphic designer and illustrator for a large manufacturing firm in Johnston. He is a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island and Butera School of Art.

Todd S. Knapp has launched Envision Technology Advisors, LLC. The company specializes in network design and implementation, long-term technology planning, web site design and hosting and point-to-point high speed network connectivity, in addition to hardware maintenance and training. Envision also produces and sells hardware and separate components. Knapp and his partner, Brent K. Ouellette, custom build personal computers and networks to best serve their clients’ needs. The company has set up headquarters at 321 Hope St., in Providence.

John Leistritz of Pawtucket has joined Safeguard Computer Services, Inc., as vice president of marketing of its subsidiary, Safeguard Software for Moving. He will be responsible for all advertising, sales literature, promotions, public relations and trade show activities, as well as providing support and direction to the company’s field sales force.
Graphic design firm promotes one and hires one
Gora Communications, a full-service graphic design, advertising and marketing communications firm has promoted Peter Manis to vice president. A graduate of Boston College, he joined Gora in 1996 as director of marketing communications. Also, Gora has appointed Lea Highgrove of Narragansett, has joined the firm as traffic coordinator. She is a graduate of the commercial art program at Springfield Technical Community College.

He is responsible for expanding the data center’s technical infrastructure, hardware, software and security to support the company’s hosting capabilities for clients’ large-scale e-commerce web sites. Carmel has over 35 years of Information Technology management experience, serving most recently as manager of network support for a Worcester, Mass. insurance company.
