Jeanne M. Marcoux
Jeanne M. Marcoux, coordinator of the Breast Care Center at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, has recently completed Project LEAD, a new science training program for breast cancer activists. Only one of three people in Rhode Island to complete this program, Marcoux have over fifteen years of experience in women’s health. Project LEAD is a program of the National Breast Cancer Coalition geared toward teaching participants the language and concepts that are critical to understanding breast cancer scientific research. Instruction is given in the biological development of breast cancer, comprehension of clinical trials and epidemiological studies, and also in leadership development to enhance community advocacy skills.
Mary Linn Hamilton
Mary Linn Hamilton has been named the new president and chief executive officer of VNA of Rhode Island. Formerly the corporate director of Strategic Health Services, Inc., a company that supplies durable medical equipment, home care, therapy and private duty services in West Virginia, Hamilton has been in home care for nearly 30 years. She is an East Greenwich resident and a member of the National Association of Home Care. Hamilton holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Simmons College in Boston. She was named a fellow of the University of Chicago Center for Health Administration Studies in 1975 and completed her doctoral program course at the Columbia University School of Public Health.

Ronald W. Del Sesto
Ronald W. Del Sesto, attorney at law in Providence, has been elected to the board of directors at the National Italian American Foundation. The elections for the 2000 through 2003 term were held last month at the foundation’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Del Sesto is a uniform law commissioner, having served on committees responsible for drafting nationwide uniform state laws, such as laws on governing anatomical gifts and the status of test tube and surrogate babies. Born and raised in Providence, Del Sesto received his Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School, where he was an editor of the law review, and a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University.

Mort Mohaddes
Mort Mohaddes has been appointed national accounts manager for Holson Albums, a manufacturer of mass market photo albums. Mohaddes has been in the sales and marketing aspect of business for the last ten years. He was previously national sales manager for Encon International, a maker of ceiling fans and light kits. Prior to that he was district manager for Conair Corporation in Stamford, Conn. Mohaddes is a graduate of California Coast University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He and his family will be relocating to the area soon.

Danielle Kimberly Weiss
Danielle Kimberly Weiss, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Allen Weiss of East Greenwich, has been nominated for an Emmy Award as producer of the news special feature, “Director’s Cut: World AIDS Day 1999,” for MTV. Weiss has worked as a segment producer and program producer at MTV since she graduated from the Newhouse School of Broadcast Journalism at Syracuse University in 1996. She was a chancellor’s scholar and graduated with honors. Currently a Manhattan resident, Weiss graduated from Moses Brown School and was a student at Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich.

Susan A. Fabrizio
Susan A. Fabrizio has been named vice president and chief operating officer of Manpower Inc., of Providence. With the agency since 1978, she has served in a variety of positions, most recently as general manager of Manpower’s Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts operations. She is first vice president of the Providence Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Fabrizio has served on various boards including Junior Achievement, Volunteers in Providence Schools, and Justice Assistance. She has been active with the Providence Chamber of Commerce, Rhode Island Staffing Services Association, and numerous charitable organizations, and is also a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island class of 1990.

Sherri Penta
Sherri Penta has been appointed administrative assistant to human resources at Log On America, Inc. A recent graduate of Bryant College, Penta participated in the Society for Human Resource Management, Commuter Connection, the school newspaper and worked in the career services office. She interned at Lincoln Park, where she was involved in the human resources department.
