Russell D. Nicholas
Russell D. Nichols has been named vice president/branch manager for Citizens Bank’s Atwood Avenue office in Cranston. He previously served as vice president/branch manager for Citizens’ Marshfield office in Marshfield, Mass. Nichols received a degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H. in 1969. He resides in Fall River, Mass.

Terri Marcucci Fitch
Terri Marcucci Fitch has been appointed director to serve as an officer of the People’s Credit Union. She was appointed to the supervisory committee in September 1992 and chaired that committee from 1999 until 2000, when she was appointed to the board of directors. Fitch is the sole proprietor and a forms and systems consultant for Sahagian Associates and the sole proprietor of the Hawthorne House, a bed and breakfast in Newport. She holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and industrial relations from the University of Rhode Island and is a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Newport as well as serving as treasurer of the Newport Rotary Charitable Foundation. She is a resident of Newport.

 

ENTERTAINMENT

Gina Lisa Dispirito
Gina Lisa DiSpirito has been appointed graphic design manager of the Brooks Pharmacy Providence/Rhode Island International Film Festival. She has designed the overall “look” of RIIFF 2000, including the program book, billboard on Route 95 and the poster. DiSpirito, owner of the Glad Works graphic design firm, is a graduate of Providence College with a bachelor of arts in humanities and a minor in graphic design and also took classes at the Rhode Island School of Design. She has worked on the “Preserve RI” Web site www.preserveRI.org and she is a resident of Lincoln.

 

 

FUNDRAISING

W. Kathleen Brady
W. Kathleen Brady has been awarded the professional designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) by the CFRE Professional Certification Board. She is the director of development, public relations and marketing for United Methodist Elder Care in East Providence. Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by the CFRE board which include tenure in the profession, education, professional achievements and commitment to service for not-for-profit organizations.

 

 

HEALTH CARE

Terry A. Patinkin
Terry A. Patinkin, MD has been named medical director of Landmark Medical Center’s Department of Emergency Medicine. He is board certified in both emergency medicine and family practice. Patinkin earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed a residency in family practice. He is a graduate of the Harvard University School of Public Health, earning a master’s degree in healthcare management, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He served as chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, chairman of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island Emergency Medical Services Committee and medical director for rescue services in both Providence and Harmony.

 

HOSPITALITY
Patrick W. Perry has been appointed general manager of the newly opened Hampton Inn & Suites hotel located at 2100 Post Road in Warwick. He will be responsible for directing all areas of the hotel’s operations including guest services, sales and marketing efforts and hotel administration. Perry was formerly employed by Holiday Inn, Days Inn and Ramada Inn. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Hotel and Restaurant School with a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant management with a minor in property operations. He is a certified hotel administrator with AHMA.

MANUFACTURING

Keith Newton
Keith Newton has been named product manager for the consumer products division at Teknor Apex Company. His responsibilities will include leading the marketing efforts and provide marketing support for the garden hose business at Teknor Apex. Newton was formerly employed as marketing coordinator-proprietary brands for Central Garden and Pet in Lafayette, Calif. And has worked for Pursell Industries in Sylacauga, Ala.; LaRoche Industries in Atlanta, Ga. and Pennington Seed in Cullman, Ala. He is a graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. With a bachelor’s degree in agronomy. He resides in Kingstown with his wife and daughter.

 

RETIREMENT SERVICES

Linda Gershon
Linda Gershon has been appointed retirement counselor for the Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville. She will be responsible for providing assistance to individuals and family members considering retirement living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s care. She previously served as retirement counselor at the Village at Elmhurst in Providence.

 

 

 

SHIPBUILDING

Lee Atterson
Lee Atterson of North Kingstown has been named production manager of the Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO). He will be responsible for the supervision and direction of the company, which specializes in the construction of barges, tug boats, ferries and other shallow-draft boats, and will oversee processes from steel cutting, forming, fabrication and assembly operations from the time the raw materials arrive through the finished product. Atterson previously served as facilities superintendent at Tampa Bay Shipbuilding and Repair Company and production manager at Service Marine Industries, Inc. He is a resident of North Kingstown.

 

 

WORKPLACE DESIGN
Stanley P. DeAngelis will be speaking at the Inc. CEO Symposium on September 13 in Palm Springs, Calif. He is the president and CEO of WorkPlace Dynamics, a company which creates workplace environments. DeAngelis was formerly president and CEO of Vision III Architects. He currently serves on Leadership Rhode Island’s Trustees’ Council and is a member of LRI’s Community Training Team, providing consulting and training to organizations throughout the country, and he is an advisor to the Small Business Administration’s Rhode Island District.
