Manufacturers from Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts will gather to discuss the growing composites industry at the Composites Forum today, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Warwick campus.
Organized by the CCRI Division of Lifelong Learning, the forum will include a panel discussion and industry sessions led by local companies like TPI Composites of Warren; Amaral Custom Fabrications of Seekonk; Fiberglass Fabricators of Smithfield; Hall Spars & Rigging of Bristol; and New England Boatworks of Portsmouth.

Composites represent a $25 billion annual industry, according to the American Composites Manufacturers Association. The industry includes other products beside boats – carbon fiber technology is used to make tennis rackets, golf clubs, car trim and briefcases.
