Chafee announces Brown training grant

U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee announced that the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has notified him that Brown University will receive grants totaling $93,336 to help fund its Aging Health and Health Services Research Training program.

The money will be used to continue funding for the doctoral program, which focuses on research into effective health care and prescription drugs for the aging and elderly. Funding will also aid students in their training and writing of their dissertations.

“Education and training are essential components of safe and effective health care,” Chafee said. “I know this money will go a long way towards better research and understanding the health problems facing senior citizens.”
