ANDOVER, Mass. – CMGI Inc., the Internet venture company which owns Web search service AltaVista Co., said it expects to report a narrower loss in the last fiscal quarter and this fiscal year. The shares have fallen 69 percent in the past year and are down from a high of $163.50 reached in January 2000. The company expects to break even, before certain expenses, by January 2003.
