Among them is bond issue #2, a $20.99 million bond that would improve facilities at the state-run colleges and university.

- URI: $5.06 million for rehabilitation of Independence Hall, a 38-year-old building that houses the university’s largest complement of general assignment classrooms. Another $4.98 million for rehabilitation of Lippitt Hall, a 36,852 square foot, three-story granite building on the URI Quadrangle that was built in 1897. The building now houses the university’s honors program, Department of Resource Economics, and a portion of the university’s computer center.
- RIC: $4.3 million will be used for the adaptive reuse of former Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) buildings on the East campus. The development of the East Campus will relieve overcrowding on RIC’s main campus.
- CCRI: $6.65 million for an addition to the Providence campus, adding lecture and laboratory classrooms, academic offices, additional parking and an on-site day care center. Most impressive is that the additions will allow for an expansion of students, many of whom need of day-care facilities and who otherwise would not have the opportunity for higher education.
